2018 research and development led to the successful testing to BS 8524-1 for the Flameshield Fire Curtain Range and the company installs to BS 8524-2 with third party accreditation in the UK. The standard is a significant improvement on the requirements for “Active Fire Barrier Assemblies”. In particular comprehensive performance criteria for fire resistance, impact testing, surface spread of flames, durability, motor testing and cyclic testing must be achieved.
The Flameshield fire shutter range was the first UK company to achieve the revised requirements of CE marking to BS EN 16034 for multiple substrates in 2019.
2022 saw the successful testing of a fire shutter to flexible, i.e. timber and stud, structures for an industry leading 90 minutes and the launch of the Flameshield EVO1 fire and smoke curtain system has given the company an amazing launchpad for growth in 2023 combining as it does superior engineering with a competitive price point.
